Cotton Field Park Illustration

As part of the re-development of the New Islington area of Manchester Studio MIKMIK was commissioned by United Creatives / Urban Splash to produce a bespoke, intricate illustration showing the three stages of cotton growth to form part of an entrance structure into Cotton Field water park.

The illustration was laser cut into sheets of coreten steel and stands at 3m in height. The coreten steel was chosen for its oxidising properties and it's been wonderful to watch the panels 'age' from jet black to an earthy rust colour over a 2 month period.
